Speculations are rife that an old skool bike called Yamaha RX 100 is once again returning to the market and this time the brand is introducing a bigger engine in the bike that will give it more power and make it faster than before. Undoubtedly, it was among the bikes that celebrities used to own, and no matter if time has gone but the motorcycle is still in the demand in the market. Keeping an eye on the craze and fan base of this 2-stroke motorcycle, Yamaha has said that they are working on the segment to launch it again in the market, reportedly.

There is no doubt that if you ever think about a Yamaha two-wheeler in India that captivated the Indian audience like no other, the 1st name that comes in the mind is, Yamaha RX100, which used to be in the market from 1985 to 1996 officially. But after the period the Japanese multinational manufacturer of motorcycles discontinued the segment due to the implementation of strict emission norms. However, the brand has made so many bikes where the brand kept the RX100 fan base in the mind and made RD350 but it didn’t work for the Indian audience because every time Indians got a choice to choose any 150CC engine bike between any other motorcycle and the pocket rocket Rx100 under they always lay their hands on this 2 stroke motorcycle.

Is Yamaha RX100 Returning To The Indian Market

Now, when Yamaha has confirmed that they are working on the segment to launch it with new upgrades in the engine. It is an open secret that this 2-stroke engined bike was a real beast on the road when it comes to being speedy. Despite being a 100CC engine the iconic bike was something that kept its fan base alive in the country even after it got discontinued by the brand and banned by the govt due to so many reasons. Launching again the rocket, Yamaha India Chairman, Eishin Chihana in his statement said that soon they will bring RX100 back on Indian roads. In another statement, he even mentioned that the brand did not wipe out the bike’s name deliberately because they wanted to launch the iconic 2-wheeler once again.

RX100 Features & Price

In the previous model that used to rule on the Indian roads in the 90s, we have seen some mind-blowing features of that time. The bike was equipped with a 98CC engine, max power of 11PS, Max torque of 10.39NM, etc. Now, the great thing is, the bike did not have so many features but it is yet to be replaced by anyone else.

If we talk about what you can expect with the next-gen Yamaha RX 100 so, as per the company’s statement, a 125CC BS6 engine along with a few configurations in the features can be expected. As people love this bike for its looks and engine, therefore company perhaps won’t choose to take risks and degrade the reputation of this rocket. Coming to the price so, speculations are rife that the Next-Gen RX100 will be priced somewhere around 1 lakh+. However, much information on this update is yet to come so stay tuned with us.
