The Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door seems to be just around the corner. The car was recently spotted wearing a heavy disguise during their road tests. The vehicle is predicted to break cover later this year for global markets. While the short-wheelbase version of the car was revealed in India ahead of this, there has been no official announcement that either of the performances will arrive in our country.
Speculations suggest that the 5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny has also grown in size. The car now measures 3,840mm in length compared to the 3,470mm short wheelbase version. The wheelbase is also expanded at 2,540mm from 2,240mm in the short-wheelbase version. Meanwhile, the height and width of the car are most likely to remain the same as the three-door version.
The company is also expected to upgrade the powertrain of this Jimny 5-door version. The car is expected to use a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine that will have hybridization. The earlier 1.5 liters naturally aspirated engine was discontinued in the UK after it got failed to meet the country’s production norms.
Inside, the car will come with an upgrade 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Plus, as expected, there will be an extra row of seats that will lend some more space. The company will likely debut the car in global markets later this year.
