Maruti Suzuki is working to strengthen its SUV market in the country. The company has already introduced the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Brezza with significant cosmetic, feature and mechanical upgrades. In September, the Indo-Japanese automaker is ready to roll out the much-awaited Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara mid-size SUV to challenge the Hyundai Creta. Both the SUVs have gathered over 1 Lakh bookings so far. The company received 75 thousand bookings for the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza and 26 thousand for the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
Maruti Suzuki’s Senior Executive Director, Shashank Srivastava, said that the company has been receiving an overwhelming response for both of its SUVs. More than half of the pre-bookings for the all-new Maruti Suzuki Vitara are for the new Maruti Suzuki Vitara and the strong hybrid tech variant. Based on Maruti Suzuki’s Global-C platform, the mid-size SUV will be made available with 1.5L K15C Dual Jet petrol with Smart Hybrid tech and 1.5L TNGA petrol with intelligent Hybrid tech power train options. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be offered.
The All Grip AWD system, available with a manual gearbox only, offers driving modes Auto, Snow and Lock. The company has confirmed the manual FWD variant will deliver fuel efficiency of 21.1kmpl, the automatic FWD model will promise 20.58kmpl, and the manual AWD version will be good for 19.38kmpl.
