Lamborghini is set to debut three new models before the end of the year, one of which is set to be the recently teased Huracan Strerrato. The company has now teased the second new model, the facelift of its hot-selling Urus SUV. Teased in a short video, the camouflaged SUV is seen running up the Pikes Peak hill climb suggesting that Lamborghini could be looking to set a new hill climb record with the upcoming facelift.
The teaser provides a brief glimpse of the SUV’s front, revealing a few cosmetic updates, the most prominent of which is the front bumper. The headlamps look too tweaked, while the rear bumper appears new. Lamborghini has been testing the efficient Urus for a while now and reports that the new model could also take on the Evo suffix like with the Huracan.
Coming to the engine department, Lamborghini has also been operational on a plug-in hybrid alternate of the Urus along the standard SUV. While Lamborghini has said it will reveal three new models before the end of 2022, the PHEV is not yet known, and the standard Urus would be considered as two separate models. As before, the standard Urus is set to retain the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 from the outgoing Urus, with power and torque figures likely to see an upward revision to make the SUV even more potent. The plug-in hybrid, temporarily, will pair the V8 with an onboard battery pack and electric motors to boost performance.
Reports suggest that the Urus facelift could debut later this month though Lamborghini itself is yet to provide an official date. As before, the standard Urus is set to retain the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 from the outgoing Urus, with power and torque figures likely to see an upward revision to make the SUV even more potent. The plug-in hybrid will pair the V8 with an onboard battery pack and electric motors to boost the performance.
